Zygmunt Bauman and Ágnes Heller to open a workshop on ‘Approaches to Postmodernity from the East’

Zygmunt Bauman and Ágnes Heller will open a workshop on ‘Approaches to Postmodernity from the East’ at the Friedrich-Schiller-University in Jena, Germany.

The workshop with the Hungarian philosopher Ágnes Heller and the Polish sociologist Zygmunt Baumann will embark on a quest for the origins and dimensions of the long and paradigmatic train of thought towards a radical individualistic and ethnically genuine eastern European postmodernism.

The workshop will be opened by a public discussion between Ágnes Heller and Zygmunt Bauman on questions of intellectual promises and threats for the European development by the EU-enlargemen on October 20th, 2011.
